DULSE SWIM
Dulse Swim is a sustainable swimwear label inspired by the Wild Atlantic coast of Ireland.
/
Developed as a graduate project during my course "Creative Studio with Entrepreneurship" at Sallynoggin college of Further Education.
/
Dulse Swim is a celebration of the Ocean and our engagement with it.
/
All pieces are made with ECONYL® regenerated nylon and handmade locally in Co.Sligo, Ireland.

SOMEthing in the water
Year 2, term 1, 2, 3. Graduate project @ Dublin Institute of Design.
/
Task: To design and construct a three-piece capsule collection.
/
Theme: SUSTAINABILITY.
/
My collection is called "Something in the water" and I'm exploring the vast amounts of plastic in the Ocean, that bring about havoc and death contrasting it's natural beauty and life.
/
I'm using ECONYL® regenerated nylon fabrics in all three outfits.
/
I explored zero-waste pattern drafting techniques whilst making this collection and the Outfit no.1 is completely zero waste.
/
I'm using my own print inspired by underwater photos of plastics floating in our Oceans alongside endangered marine creatures.

Loved and upcycled
I make new things out of old ones. That's pretty much a magic...
/
Loved & upcycled was a limited collections of bags, wallets & laptop cases handmade from
repurposed kites, sails, wetsuits, bike tubes and tents.
/
Although it's now closed for business, creating Loved & Upcycled pieces have taught me a lot about starting and running a micro-business in Ireland and brought me on a journey towards sustainable fashion design.

Myths about Moths
Year 1, term 2 & 3 @ the Dublin Institute of Design.
/
Designing and making a single piece outfit.
/
Theme: MODERN DATING
/
My collection "Myths about Moths" is inspired by a discrepancy in perception of the beauty of moths vs butterflies.
/
Materials used: neoprene, fishnet fabric (both purchased new), ripstop and ripstop offcuts (upcycled from postconsumer kitesurfing kites), repurposed studs (from an old damaged t-shirt)

all strings attached
Year 1, Term 1 @ Dublin Institute of Design.
/
Designing a 3 piece collection (without making). Learning visual research, sketching & design development.
/
Theme: INTO THE WILD
/
Inspired by beaches, surf trips and ever-present plastic pollution. One half of all ocean plastic consists of discarded or lost fishing nets. These entangle sea creatures in their deadly grip.
All stings attached.
/
Materials used in Desing development: postconsumer fabrics and plastic found on the beach.
